Abstract

The harvested area of rice in 2024 reached 1.55 million hectares, a decrease of 0.09 million hectares (5.36 percent) compared to 2023.
In line with the harvested area, rice production in 2024 reached 8.89 million tons of dried unhulled grain (GKG), or equivalent to 5.11 million tons of rice for food consumption.
Compared to 2023, rice production in 2024 decreased by 0.19 million tons of GKG (2.12 percent).
The 2024 rice production placed Central Java as the second-largest rice-producing province nationally after East Java.
